OUR IMPACT
The most important thing the Friends does is provide an annual grant of $150,000 to the Saratoga Library. These funds are used to enrich book collections, support programs, and provide extended librarian hours.
INITIATIVES AND ACTIVITIES

Patio Shade Project
With a goal to make the library’s back patio more inviting, the Friends suggested and funded a durable shade structure to cover the patio, and shield library patrons from the elements throughout four seasons. Together with new, weather-resistant furniture, the patio now provides additional space to read, meet, and relax all year long.

City Events
Board members and dedicated volunteers regularly attend Saratoga city events in support of our library, bookstore, and community — often with books to sell, children’s craft projects, and merchandise giveaways. Find us at the Blossom Festival, Saratoga Education Foundation’s 5k Fun Run, Summer Movie Nights in the park, and the annual State of the City.

Summer Reading Program
The Friends supports and helps promote the Saratoga Library’s annual Summer Reading Program. Last summer, we provided hundreds of books with custom bookmarks for participating patrons; and program finishers received a coupon for a free book at the Book-Go-Round. Dozens of new readers discovered our bookstore.
