About Us
Friends of the Saratoga Libraries is a non-profit 501(c)(3) (EIN No. 94-2831256).
The Friends is 100% volunteer run, there are no paid employees.
Founded in 1972 by Saratoga community members, the Friends ongoing focus is to maintain a broad based community organization of persons interested in a high quality library services, to focus public attention on library needs and services, to encourage and assist in providing adequate physical facilities for the Saratoga Library.
The Friends of the Saratoga Libraries is an active community library support group of approximately 1,200 community resident households and library patrons who show their support for the Saratoga Library by becoming members.
The BOOK-GO-ROUND is the nonprofit used bookstore operated year round by volunteers of the Friends of the Saratoga Libraries. Located in the former library building in Saratoga Village, proceeds benefit the Saratoga Library.
Membership dues and donations, donations of books, volunteering and purchasing books from the BOOK-GO-ROUND assist the library in maintaining and improving its current high level of library services.
Purpose:
- Provide funding grants for materials, furniture and personnel support.
- Assist in maintaining high levels of library services.
- Provide a voice for library supporters.
- Provide a vehicle to encourage gifts and endowments to the library.
- Inform the community of resources and services of the library.
